Prototype Device

High School Concussion Detector

A couple of my friends and I had a club in high school where we invented things for fun. Our biggest project was a device to help detect concussions in contact sports in real time, preventing players from getting injured further. What began as a chaotic breadboard with a profusion of wires evolved into a sophisticated device consisting of a custom PCB integrated with a high-g accelerometer and a microcontroller. The output of the device is synchronized with a IoT network and a full-stack web application, enabling real-time data projection to coaches on the sidelines while managing a comprehensive database.

We won 1st place and the Health and Medical Technology Award at the GT InVenture Prize High School Division State Finals, followed by 3rd place at the Invention Convention Worldwide U.S Nationals. Currently we are PATENT PENDING.
